In more than three decades of Sino-Japanese environmental cooperation, not only has it shaped the model of the China-Japan Friendship Environmental Protection Center as a window of cooperation, but six Chinese government "Friendship Award" winners have emerged. In recent years, the cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful results. First, the environmental department has maintained frequent high-level exchanges. It has reached an agreement on the signing of a memorandum of environmental cooperation between the departments. Cooperation and communication platform. The second is to continue to advance cooperation projects, complete three stages of technical cooperation, and jointly implement a number of cooperation projects that benefit the Chinese and Japanese governments and non-governmental enterprises, such as cooperating to build an environmentally friendly society and improve inter-city cooperation. Thirdly, technical exchanges are getting closer and closer. With the implementation of six Sino-Japanese cooperative third country training programs, China has received a total of more than 560 Japanese experts to come to China for exchanges and sent more than 480 people to Japan for further studies. The fourth is to deepen cooperation in the areas of water and air governance, solid waste treatment and disposal, environmental monitoring, environmental education and information technology, and "no waste cities", and the areas of cooperation continue to expand.
Li Ganjie emphasized that China-Japan environmental cooperation not only helps us solve the ecological environment problem together, but also helps to enhance the friendship between the two peoples and promote the healthy development of relations between the two countries. China is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with Japan in the ecological environment field. It is necessary to summarize and promote the valuable experience of environmental cooperation between China and Japan for more than 30 years, share the stories of China-Japan environmental friendly cooperation, and provide useful reference for other international environmental cooperation. It is necessary to give full play to the role of window and bridge of the China-Japan Friendship Environmental Protection Center, make good use of cooperation platforms such as the China-Japan High-level Roundtable Dialogue on Environmental Cooperation, and continue to strengthen cooperation on environmental technology projects. We must work together to plan a better future for environmental cooperation, and write a new chapter in Sino-Japanese environmental cooperation in areas such as private environmental technology exchanges, training in environmental governance capabilities in third countries, and developing green "Belt and Road" third-party cooperation.
Koizumi Shinjiro praised China's achievements in ecological environmental protection and highly praised the China-Japan Friendship Environmental Protection Center as a bridge for Sino-Japanese ecological environmental protection cooperation. He said that Japan and China have maintained a long tradition of friendly exchanges. This dialogue is held for the first time in Japan, and he hopes that everyone can achieve exchange results in the fields of marine plastic waste and tackling climate change.
